I participate in the Pelion gastronomic community simply because gastronomy is a global trend of the last years. In Greece, few regions present their gastronomic culture in an integrated and organized way or do gastronomic branding. This is something that every place in our country needs to do individually to emphasize its particularities and to promote a strong gastronomic and cultural identity. The infrastructure is in place and Pelion is a place with a very rich tradition, which we must not forget because it is what makes us stand out. It is certain that when a place is promoted comprehensively and thoroughly, tourism will follow. Restaurants are well advised to bring back local recipes which they could present in their own way and, of course, to use and promote local products such as fish, meat, cheese, vegetables, fruit and wine.
